That's right, first actual entry in this blog is how to be classy on possibly the most un-classy of days.
For the most part, super bowl Sunday is a day for "manly men" to get together, drink beer, eat wings, and be loud. Although to some this may be fun, it certainly isn't classy.
So, how should we, as classy men, handle going to a super bowl party? To start with, the food. To many, food is the biggest part of a football game. You may be tempted to dig into that plate of hot wings, stop yourself. What will that saucy mess do to you? Your fingers and lips will turn orange, you may drop sauce on your clothes, also you will feel the oil going straight your stomach to your skin. In general you will feel the need to have a shower.
What should you eat then? You may just want to hold off on food that is provided all together, most of it will probably make you feel gross, but if you are at party, and need to eat something, stick to the driest, and least greasy food available.
Now how should you interact with the hardcore football fans? If you have a team you want to win, be proud of it, but don't rub it in the oppositions face when they have a big play. Remember,, you are to be an example to those looking up to you. If you aren't a football fan, or don't have a preference on the outcome, find and join the majority, you do not want to cause conflict with those who probably know more than you (at least in this one field.)
In general, you will want to humble, and not make yourself one of the loud, obnoxious majority, but at the same time, don't shun them, but lower yourself to their level, and at least give the impression of interest. Be a good example for those lower than you, that one day, they too can see the error in their ways.
Thank you, and go giants.
Come with our bloggers as we explore all things classy. This is by no means a blog that will look down on you because you are not of right class. It is intended as a learning experience, guided by our staff, who are not necessarily experts themselves, to navigate the gentlemanly world as we attempt to Graduate Class.
Sunday, 5 February 2012
Good morning students. To start off, welcome to Graduating Class, in this blog we will be exploring the finer points in life. My colleagues and I will be discussing everything from wine to clothing. None of us claim to be experts in the field, just enthusiastic young men with interest in the pursuit of class. We hope this can be an open forum to learning (although we do have the final say.) We invite you to join in this discovery with us and share it with others.
Thank you
